UBC Tokyo Qualifier
To send the strongest challenger from Japan to the UBC Contender, we aim to host the best possible qualifying event. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation.
Format
The event consists of two days of qualifying (10 matches, partial round-robin) followed by a two-day playoff among the top 8 players. In the playoffs, the quarterfinals and semifinals each consist of 4 matches, and the final consists of 6 matches.
Match schedule overview
Day 1 – Day 2
- 10 qualifying matches (6 on Day 1, 4 on Day 2)
- The top 6 players are selected based on total points from match wins + PR wins.
- From the remaining players, the top 2 by average PR are selected, making 8 playoff players in total.

Based on average PR from the qualifiers, seeded as:

(Placed into a standard 8-player bracket. Thus 1 meets 8 in Round 1, and 1 and 2 can only meet in the final, etc.)
Schedule (Playoffs)
- Day 2 afternoon: Quarterfinals — 2 matches
- Day 3: Quarterfinals — 2 matches; Semifinals — 4 matches
- Day 4: Final — 6 matches
Eligibility
- Must hold the BMAB Master title (PR 6.5 or lower), or be recommended by the organizers.
- Must be a full JBS member.
- If you win, you must participate in the UBC Contender Tournament in Monaco (right before BGWC in August).
Prizes
- The winner will be sent to compete in the Top 4 of the UBC Contender Tournament in Monaco (right before BGWC in August).
- The winner will receive travel and accommodation support (sponsored by Kenji Shimodaira and Hiroshi Tanaka; approx. ¥500,000 value).
Streaming
- One match will always be streamed live with transcription.
- The organizers will select which match is streamed.

日本から最強の挑戦者をUBC Contenderに送り込むため、最良の予選を開催したいと思います。
皆さん、ご協力をお願いします。
方式
試合は予選・プレイオフすべて7ポイントマッチ。試合とPRの両方をカウント。時計は14分＋12秒Delay。
2日間の予選（10マッチ、部分総当たりリーグ）とその上位８人による２日間のプレーオフによって構成される。
プレーオフはベスト8とベスト4が4マッチずつ。決勝は6マッチ。
試合スケジュール概要
〇1日目～2日目
- 10マッチの予選（1日目6マッチ、2日目4マッチ）
- 試合勝利数とPR勝利数の合計により上位6名を選抜
- 上位6名に選ばれなかったプレイヤーからPR平均上位を2名選抜し、計8名がプレイオフ進出

予選の平均PRにより、組み合わせは以下の通り：

参加資格
- BMABでMaster資格(PR6.5以下)を持っているか、主催者が推薦すること。
- JBSの正会員であること。
- 優勝した場合、モナコのUBC Contender Tournamentに参加すること (8月のBGWC直前)。
賞品
- 優勝者1名をモナコで開催されるUBC Contender Tournamentのベスト4に派遣 (8月のBGWC直前)。
- 優勝者は交通費・宿泊費を補助される。(下平憲治氏・田中浩氏協賛。50万円相当)
ストリーム配信
- 常に1マッチをライブ棋譜取り付きで配信。
- どの試合を配信するかは主催者が選定。
